Air Vanuatu

Air Vanuatu is the national carrier for the Republic of Vanuatu, located in the South West Pacific and operating flights to Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and Fiji, and with representation throughout the US, the UK, Europe and Asia.

The brief …
To raise the profile of Air Vanuatu in Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia by creating and producing a range of promotional products for print, radio and television to reposition the airline as a quality carrier and the Republic of Vanuatu as an attractive and affordable holiday destination.

The challenge …
For some time, Air Vanuatu had been operating with services provided by other airlines in the region, and had lost significant market share to these carriers who promoted destinations on their own routes in addition to Vanuatu. Also, with Air Vanuatu now operating independently, there was a need to create a sense of community ownership of the airline by the people of Vanuatu. This meant that all promotional products had to be produced in both French and English to serve local communities whose first language was either one or the other.

Over the course of a 12-month contract, we created a series of printed promotional products in both French and English including :

	multiple print advertisements
	illustrated company profiles
	an annual report and tourism brochures
	a series of scripted radio advertisements for release in Australia and New Zealand
	multiple media briefings resulting in visits by mainstream Australian and New Zealand media representatives
	media briefings resulting in articles in mainstream and tourism publications in Australia and New Zealand.
